Characteristics
Bismarcksteig is visible from the road. It is a crossing over the Predigtstuhl 1902m and a connection between Karl-Ludwig-Haus and Waxriegelhaus. In the spring there is still enough snow and the via ferrata can be covered by it.
Arrival
Vienna - Reichenau an der Rax - Prein - Preiner Gscheid.
Approach
From Preiner Gscheid (1070 m) across the slopes up to the Waxriegelhaus where you turn left south to Predigstuhl (1902 m). Go to the Saddle where you can see the start of the ferrata.
Exit
From Karl Ludwig Haus: via Waxriegelsteig to Waxriegelhaus and Preiner Gscheid
