Characteristics

The closest sports ferrata to Ljubljana. It is quite short and in the hardest part vertical. Sometimes the ferrata is closed due to nesting of peregrine falcon (e.g. in May 2020).

Arrival

By car from Litija or Zagorje ob Savi to village Renke, where we can park on a parking lot at river Sava - next to the hanging bridge.

Approach

First we have to cross hanging bridge for pedestrians, which is in very poor condition and officially closed - but there is no other way to cross river Sava. When we come to the railway line, we follow it for about 50 meters to the left. There we already see green triangles, special markings that lead us to via ferrata. When we reach the first sport climbing area, we have to continue and follow the ropes, which bring us to the second sport climbing area, where via ferrata begins.

Exit

Via the normal path, which is sometimes poorly visible.

Interesting facts

The fastest animal in the planet - peregrine falcon - has its habitat in the vicinity of ferrata. Beware of snakes at the top of ferrata!
