Characteristics

The panoramic Gitschenwand via ferrata is a short via ferrata on a rocky area in the green hills between Hallein and St. Wolfgang.

Arrival

From Vigaun or Kuchl to St. Koloman. There turn towards Trattberg / Seewaldsee past the church and soon turn left to the toll booth (closed in winter) and drive along the toll road (8 EUR) to the Enzianhütte, park there.

Boarding

From the Enzianhütte briefly uphill on the asphalt road towards Hintertrattberg to the cattle barrier, where the hiking trail to Seeboden begins. Go downhill and at the beginning of the Gitschenwand you will directly reach the start of the via ferrata on the right side of the Gitschenwand.

Exit

From the end of the via ferrata the path leads back to the Enzianhütte, directly to the parking lot. If you want, you can still go left to the Gitschenwand summit cross (approx. 10 minutes).
