Characteristics
Due to its high altitude, the via ferrata is not accessible during the winter months, generally from mid-October to mid-June. Check with the tourist office for more information! Dolomite setting and lots of gas. The route follows ledges and benches and crosses rocky outcrops to the Pointe du Curé, then passes the Col de la Croix and climbs back up to the Croix des Verdons (or Dent de Burgin) to offer a beautiful panorama of the glaciers and peaks of the Vanoise.
Arrival
You can park in various car parks in Courchevel 1850 and make your way to La Croisette for the departure point by cable car or on foot.
Approach
From Courchevel 1850, take the Verdons gondola lift and the La Saulire cable car, then continue to the right upon arrival and walk for 15 minutes to reach the start of the via ferrata. (The ski lifts cost around €20) Alternatively, you can walk up from Courchevel 1850, but allow for a 2-hour hike with a significant elevation gain.
Descent
Approximately 45 minutes to return to the cable car, with descents on a cable path. Please note that part of the return journey is via the escape route, so you may encounter other hikers. Alternatively, you can descend via a scree slope and then the trail (very challenging trail!).
Points of interest
Many bars - Little contact with the rock. Magnificent view upon arrival.
