Via FERRATA OPEN 1.Juni - 31.Oktober , 09:00 - 18:00.

Basically, it is more about descent - not ascent:) But this ferrata is also unique. Almost all the time we are moving in the 800 meter exposure, where we only have a piece of hook, cramps or ladder under our feet.

Arrival

The villages of Gimmelwald and Mürren, not far from the famous town Lauterbrunnen, are not reachable by car. There are two ways:

a) Take the cable car from Stechelberg to Schilthorn (Schilthornbahn) to Mürren Station. In that case, it is possible to park on a paid parking lot in the lower cable car station (it is not possible to park elsewhere).

b) Walk from Stechelberg - at the end of the road (there is no entry) there is a parking lot on the right, also paid.

Approach

a) Take the cable car from Stechelberg to Schilthorn to Mürren Station, new Cablecar 2024.

b) Walk from the village Stechelberg to the sign leading to Gimmelwald and Mürren, about 720 meters elevation.

Continue in Mürren towards the city center and turn right in front of the tennis courts and go through the gate oto the closed tunnel. The entrance to the ferrata is marked. Put the harnesses on before entering the tunnel, there is not much space left.

Descent

The route ends right at Gimmelwald Station. It is possible to go down the cable car or walk on a marked trail to Stechelberg.

Points of interest

Massif is popular by basejumpers, ferrata leads close - it is possible to look at it. As a surprise at the end is more than 100 meters long Nepal bridge.
