Characteristics
A real pleasure via ferrata in the middle of the Montafon - there is no other way to describe the iron path on the north wall of the Madrisella. The numerous vertical passages were defused with innumerable brackets - only very short C/D passages have to be climbed. Leisure climbing climbers will find numerous resting positions on the moderately difficult via ferrata and can thus enjoy the view of the great mountains. A fantastic mountain world, a not too difficult north face via ferrata and, if you are lucky, a tame marmot on the climb enrich this mountain day.
Arrival
From Bludenz on the B188, via St. Gallenkirch to Gaschurn. There is a large car park in Gaschurn opposite the Versettla cable car valley station.
Public transport: by train to Schruns and further by bus.
Approach
Descend from the top station of the Versettla cable car on the gravel road (short path below) to Alpe Nova. Towards the mighty Madrisella from the Alpe Nova. At the so-called Seressee, turn left at a rock on the path to the via ferrata. Finally steep - better to put on the equipment beforehand - up to the entrance on the stem.
Exit
From the end of the via ferrata in about 15 minutes to the summit of Madrisella (2466 m). From there north along the ridge - past the summit of Versettla (2372 m) - and on towards Burg (2247 m). Before the last ridge either left over the so-called Burgklettersteig (A/B; short, easy ridge via ferrata) or right of it on the hiking trail back to the mountain station.
Interesting facts
It is better not to climb the via ferrata in wet and snowy conditions. North wall - in the lower part it is quite fresh, especially in the morning. Shortly before the Seressee you can see tame marmots.
