Characteristics
This mini ferrata on the edge of the Slovak Paradise is hidden in the forest above the village of Hnilčík. From the wooded massif called Hlinisko, two rocky viewpoints stand out, named simply - number 1 and 2, from which there is a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. The small via ferrata leads to the cliff of Skalná vyhlídka 2. The difficulty of the hiking route and the via ferrata makes the trip suitable for families with children. The ferrata is easy on strength, at a low height above the terrain. Due to its simplicity, a via ferrata set is not necessary. At the viewpoint there is a bench with a beautiful view of the Tatras, Levočské vrchy, SNV, Levoča, Spiš Castle.

In the village of Hnilčík, you can park behind the Zimná dolina bus stop (space for two cars).

About 20 m after the ramp, turn off the gravel road to the left and continue along the sidewalk uphill following the yellow sign. After 15 minutes you will come to a crossroads and from there it is only a short distance to the via ferrata.

From Skalnej vyhlídka 2, we go down for about 5 minutes to the Pod Kamennou osoda intersection and from there along the sidewalk, along which we climbed to the via ferrata back to the parking lot.
Interesting facts
The ascent ends between five rock viewpoints and formations where the Kamenná osada - mining settlement was located. The settlement was about 100 meters long and about 40 meters wide. It consisted of small log houses measuring 3x3 m. Copper, iron ore and silver were mined in the massif. In the vicinity, there are also so-called pings - holes in which mining was carried out from the mountain down to a maximum depth of 12 meters. There is also a mining open-air museum in the village of Hnilčík.
