Characteristics

A simple trail, which in the upper part on a short section is equipped with a few crampons without a belay rope. Overall, however, this route should not be underestimated, there are also several slightly climbing sections of approximately I+ difficulty without belaying. The via ferrata set is, like other ferratas of lower difficulty in the area, unnecessary.

Arrival

Parking lot in the saddle of Preiner Gscheid.

Onset

From the parking lot, follow the yellow, then the green, and then a relatively inconspicuous turn at the signpost to the right onto the red-marked trail that will lead you to a short via ferrata section.

Descent

Many options to descend back to the parking lot.

Interesting facts

Rather than the via ferrata itself, there is a very nice approach to it that takes you to the less frequented parts of the Rax mountain range. At the end of the trail, the Rax Kircherl (mountain church) and the opportunity to climb the 2,000 Heukuppe are worth mentioning.
