Characteristics
A simple via ferrata that leads to the saddle between Alpspitze and Bernadeinkopf, where several paths then branch off. It is often used as part of the descent from the Alpspitze. Although the via ferrata itself is neither particularly interesting nor difficult, the surprise is the rock tunnels that make it an extraordinary experience. There are also two ladders and some sections with steps.
Arrival
Garmisch - Kreuzeck/Alpspitzbahn car park - take the cable car to the Ostlerferderkopf.
Boarding
From the upper cable car station, take the path below the Alpspitze and at the intersection take the path left to the Nordwandsteig.
Exit
There are several options. The fastest way is to return along the same route. Another option is to descend via the Schöngang via ferrata, or you can take a circular tour via the Bernadeinsteig or continue to the Alpspitze.
