Characteristics
A secured ridge path in the Western Tatras that offers beautiful views and exercise in alpine, rocky terrain. The securing is done by chains, which are used more for holding on than for hooking into a via ferrata set. Therefore, no via ferrata set is used here and it is important to be careful and not be afraid of heights. If it rains, it is not recommended to use this secured path. The path is accessible in both directions.
Arrival
Zuberec and to the Pod Spálenou car park.
Boarding
There are several options. The first option is to take the cable car and walk the ridge path over the Salatín. Then walk from the parking lot on the red and then yellow path to Baníkov. The third option is to walk in the opposite direction along the Red and Blue Trails to Smutné sedlo.
Exit
From Smutné sedlo on the Blue and then Red path back to the parking lot.
Interesting facts
There are secured chains and no via ferrata kit is worn.
Beautiful views, and you can walk around the Roháčské plesá (Roháč Lakes) when going up or down.
