Description

The members of the PSK Brđanka hiking club from Alekšinac have built a via ferrata above the Sveti Stefan monastery, thereby increasing the region's tourist potential. The via ferrata opened on October 9, 2022. The via ferrata is short, but an extension is planned. It is easy and accessible to anyone who wants to try this adrenaline activity. It can be traversed in just over an hour. From the top of the rock, on which there is a large wooden cross, there are beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Directions

You can reach the via ferrata by walking through the village of Lipovac and driving to the monastery of Sveti Stefan Lipovac.

Boarding

From the car park, walk back a bit, cross the bridge and walk uphill along the road past the monastery towards the forest and past a large tourist information board. At each intersection of the forest paths, turn right until you come across a tree blocking the path. Then you will see a massive rock on the left. Go to him to the left and you will see the entrance to the via ferrata, complemented by a sign.

Take the path that turns left to quickly return to the monastery and the parking lot.

Interesting facts

The via ferrata begins with a metal ladder that can be folded and locked. Therefore, it is necessary to find out in advance from the PSK Brdanka hiking club.
