Characteristics

Very demanding via ferrata is part of the magnificent crossing called "Ta visoka rosajanska pot". Its highlight is 50 meters high vertical column, where the climb gets very airy and tense. It represents the most difficult ascent to Kanin (2587 m) and crosses the summit of Picco di Carnizza (2441 m) on the way. The most difficult part is before the summit of Picco di Carnizza while the further climb to Kanin is not so demanding anymore.

Arrival

By car to Sella Nevea and with cable car to Rifugio Celso Gilberti (1850 m).

Approach

From the hut we continue over saddle Bila Pec (2005 m) to saddle Peravo (2040 m), where there is also a bivouac Marussich (2h). Our via ferrata begins a few 100 meters further from the saddle.

Exit

From Kanin over Via ferrata Divisione Julia (C) to Rifugio Celso Gilberti (2,5h). If this is too difficult, the alternative descent path around Prestreljenik and Prevale is about an hour longer.

Interesting facts

We can shorten the round or combine it with some further peaks if we spend the night in Rifugio Celso Gilberti or in bivouac Marussich.
