A rock fall has cut off the original Vajo Scuro via ferrata (difficulty C) from the access route. To get to the start of Vajo Scuro, the Lonterovare variant (difficulty D/E) was created, which connects to Vajo Scuro and offers you the opportunity to view the rockfall from above. However, it won't be easy.

From the parking lot at Rifugio Cesare Battisti, go north on the marked Sentiero Attrezzato del Vajo Scuro trail. The path is partially secured, you follow it until you are stopped by a STOP sign - Sentiero chiuso per Frana (path closed due to rock fall). Look to the left towards the wall and you will see the entrance to the Lonterovare variant.

DANGER!

Descend from the Forcellino Plische pass via path 113. The closer variant Vaio di Pelegatta from Passo Pelegatta is not suitable for the descent. After 100 meters the path turns into a steep scree slope.
