Characteristics

Kanin is a Slovenian via ferrata, which difficulty does not attract demanding ferratists, but rather trekkers and mountain lovers.

Approach

From the car park take the cable car (40 min) to the last station Postaja D (2200 m). From the top station of the cable car climb a steep gravel hill towards the crossroads under the Prestreljeniku rock window. Then go left.

After a while, you will come across a securing rope. Climb the rock with cramps. Then follow the path to the saddle. There will be a turn to the P.Skaljara hut. Go straight, then there will be a traverse. At the end, climb the trough to the ridge. On the ridge pass the exit of the Italian ferrata and climb to the top of Kanin.

Exit

From the summit, descend via the ferrata back to the crossroads and the cable car. The Last Cabin goes down at 17:00 (Summer 2018).
